The purpose of the 22099VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to safely assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until the arrival of medical assistance.
Application of this unit relates to the use of the casualty’s own adrenalin device. The treatment would be carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.

This course covers basic life support and resuscitation procedures for adults, children and infants. This 3 hour course is designed for students to confidently perform the DRABCD action plan or CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), employing the most recently introduced guidelines.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures only. It incorporates the unit HLTCPR201A – Perform a CPR. The skills and knowledge learnt enable the first aider to provide an initial response to an emergency in line with the practised actions and Australian Resuscitation guidelines, legislation and policies and accepted industry guidelines.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be credited with HLTFA301B Apply First Aid. This unit covers the application of skills and knowledge in an emergency in the workplace where first aid treatment options are applied. It is about assessing the situation, providing first aid to the casualty, co-ordinating first aid until arrival of medical assistance and communicating details of the incident to others involved in the situation. It also covers CPR/EAR.

One day course in First Aid Level 2 - Provide First Aid - External - is a short course designed to develop the knowledge and skills to provide first aid and manage the casualty(s) and the incident. Participants are able to save time with this course which is convenient and self-paced. Attendance for one full day is necessary to cover the practical components such as CPR, bandaging, burns, bleeding, choking, shock and much more. You will be given a workbook to be completed in your time. Students are expected to complete a written and multiple choice test at home. When participants are deemed competent a certificate will be issued. This course will be recognised as acceptable training for first aiders across industry and community sectors. The course meets the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 1985 Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace (No 18 1995).

This short course equips qualified Personal Carers who are working in the industry with skills and knowledge to provide assistance with administration of medications in compliance with legal and organisational policies and procedures. Due to the introduction of the new Community Services Training package this year the medication unit must be accompanying by the Body Systems unit.
Participants will cover basic knowledge of commonly used medicines and drugs, best practice principles, basic structure and functions of the body systems and basic health terminology.
Accredited units are HLTAP301A Recognise healthy body systems in a health care context and CHCCS305A Assist clients with medication
A must for all PCAs. Students must be qualified Personal Carers and working in the Industry.
